Kalanidhi Maran is new Spicejet Chairman

One of India's leading industralists and Media Moghul Kalanidhi Maran has stamped his foot firmly in the aviation market too. Mr. Maran, who acquired stake in SpiceJet worth Rs. 750 crores from American investor Wilbur Ross, has been appointed Chairman when the board's meeting was held on Monday. Mr. Maran has 38.66% shares in the low-cost carrier.


It is being told that Maran has appointed Neil Mills as the CEO of the airline and is likely to bring his loyalists from the Sun TV board too. Sources suggested that the current directors on the Board might leave the airline. Several top officials including CEO Sanjay Aggarwal and founder-director Ajay Singh have already left the management. However, Bhulo Kansagra, another founder- director, will continue to be a Board member.
